Lead HVAC Technician

Position Overview

Gold Standard Heating and Air Conditioning is seeking a Lead HVAC Technician with 4–5+ years of consistent, hands-on experience. We are a small, growing team focused on building a high-quality, customer-first service model. This role is for a technician who takes ownership, leads from the field, and contributes to building a high-performance operation.

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose, repair, and service residential HVAC systems including split systems, heat pumps, and furnaces.

Lead service calls independently from start to finish. Provide clear and professional recommendations to customers.

Ensure all work meets company quality standards and local/state code requirements. Maintain accurate job documentation.

Support and mentor junior technicians as the team grows.

Experience Requirements:

Minimum of 4–5+ years of consistent HVAC field experience.

No employment gaps greater than one year outside the HVAC industry.

Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities. Ability to operate independently and manage full service calls and solid experience with change-outs.

Proven reliability and professionalism.

Licensing & Certifications:

Required: EPA Certification and valid Texas Driver’s License. Preferred: TDLR Registered or Certified Technician.

Highly Preferred: TDLR Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Contractor License (Class A or B), though not required.

Hiring Standards & Verification:

Background check will be conducted. Previous HVAC employers will be contacted to verify experience and performance. Candidates must demonstrate consistent employment history and technical competency.

Compensation & Benefits:

Competitive base pay based on experience and licensing level. Performance-based incentives tied to overall company performance. Incentives begin after a 90-day onboarding and evaluation period. Company vehicle and tools provided.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
