DevOps / Cloud Engineer – Role Overview

A dedicated offshore DevOps/Cloud Engineer is required to support development and deployment phases.
The resource must have expertise in:

• AWS API Gateway

• AWS Lambda

• AWS Secrets Manager

• AWS EKS

• GitHub (VCS & GitHub Actions for CD)

• Terraform & general Cloud technologies

Project Purpose

The Genesys API Development project aims to build and deploy secure, scalable APIs to integrate Genesys Cloud with internal systems. This will replace placeholder data with live integrations, enhancing data flow, automation, and functionality for the CMD contact center.

Scope of Work

1. Environment Setup

• Provision Dev and Prod environments in AWS (EC2/RDS based on final design).

2. API Development

• Build REST APIs using AWS API Gateway, Lambda, and EKS.

3. Infrastructure Configuration

• Set up CI/CD pipelines.

• Implement monitoring and environment synchronization.

4. Testing & Validation

• Ensure APIs meet performance, security, and compliance requirements.

5. Support & Maintenance

• Provide ongoing monitoring, issue resolution, and infrastructure support.

6. Overall Scope

• Complete setup, development, deployment, and support of cloud-native API infrastructure and microservices for integrating Genesys Cloud.

Key Responsibilities / Deliverables

Infrastructure Setup

• Provision & configure AWS environments (Dev & Prod).

• Build secure, scalable cloud infrastructure following AWS best practices.

API Development & Deployment

• Develop/deploy REST APIs using API Gateway, Lambda, EKS.

• Integrate APIs with backend systems ensuring smooth data flow.

• Implement IaC using Terraform.

Automation & CI/CD

• Design & implement CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/Jenkins/AWS CodePipeline).

• Manage secrets, IAM roles, and environment variables via AWS Secrets Manager.

Monitoring & Optimization

• Configure logging/monitoring via CloudWatch.

• Identify and optimize performance and cost issues.

Security & Compliance

• Ensure security, compliance, and audit adherence.

• Participate in reviews of infrastructure and code security.

Documentation & Handover

• Maintain technical documentation.

• Provide KT and post-deployment support to operations teams.

Expected Deliverables

• Fully provisioned AWS Dev & Prod environments for CMD Genesys APIs.

• Deployed, tested, and documented API suite (API Gateway, Lambda, EKS).

• Automated CI/CD pipeline for continuous delivery.

• Secure access & secrets management compliant with audit controls.

• Monitoring and dashboard setup for API operations.

• Final documentation and support transition plan.

Key Skills Required

AWS Cloud Services

• API Gateway, Lambda, EKS, IAM, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch.

API Development & Integration

• Strong understanding of REST, API design, security, and deployment.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• Proficiency in Terraform or CloudFormation.

CI/CD Pipeline Management

• Expertise with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CodePipeline.

Containerization & Orchestration

• Hands-on experience with Docker & Kubernetes.

Security & Compliance

• AWS security best practices, RBAC, secrets management.

Monitoring & Troubleshooting

• Experience with CloudWatch, Prometheus, or similar.

Collaboration & Communication

• Strong global stakeholder and cross-functional communication.
