The resource must have expertise in: - AWS API Gateway - AWS Lambda - AWS Secret Manager - AWS EKS - Github (VCS and CD for GHA) - Terraform and general Cloud technologies Role Scope / Deliverables: Role: DevOps / Cloud Engineer Project Purpose: The Genesys API Development project aims to build and deploy a suite of secure, scalable APIs to integrate Genesys Cloud with internal systems. This effort will replace existing placeholder data with live API integrations, enabling more efficient data flow, improved automation, and enhanced functionality for the CMD contact center. Scope of Work: Environment Setup: Provisioning of Dev and Prod environments in AWS (EC2 or RDS, depending on final design). API Development: Implementation of REST APIs using AWS API Gateway, AWS Lambda, and AWS EKS. Infrastructure Configuration: Establishment of CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and environment synchronization. Testing and Validation: Ensuring all APIs meet performance, security, and compliance standards before go-live. Support and Maintenance: Ongoing monitoring, issue resolution, and infrastructure support post-deployment. Scope: The resource will be responsible for the setup, development, deployment, and support of API infrastructure and microservices required for integrating Genesys Cloud with systems. This includes hands-on implementation of cloud-native solutions using AWS services, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized environments. Key Responsibilities / Deliverables: Infrastructure Setup: Provision and configure AWS environments (Dev & Prod) for API hosting. Implement secure and scalable cloud infrastructure using AWS best practices. API Development & Deployment: Develop and deploy REST APIs leveraging AWS API Gateway, AWS Lambda, and AWS EKS leveraging IAC tool like Terraform. Integrate APIs with backend systems and ensure consistent data flow between Genesys Cloud and internal platforms. Automation & CI/CD: Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, build, and deployment. Manage environment variables, secrets, and IAM roles using AWS Secrets Manager and role-based access control. Monitoring & Optimization: Configure logging and monitoring using CloudWatch or equivalent tools. Identify performance issues and recommend optimization improvements for cost and efficiency. Security & Compliance: Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and audit standards for all deployed services. Participate in reviews to validate secure and compliant infrastructure configurations. Documentation & Handover: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for infrastructure, deployments, and API configurations. Provide knowledge transfer and post-deployment support to operational teams. Expected Deliverables: Fully provisioned AWS environments for CMD Genesys APIs (Dev & Prod). Deployed, tested, and documented API suite using AWS API Gateway, Lambda, and EKS. Automated CI/CD pipeline for continuous integration and deployment. Secure access management and secrets configuration compliant with internal audit controls. Deployment and monitoring dashboards for ongoing API operations. Final handover documentation and support transition plan. Key Skills: AWS Cloud Services: Proven hands-on experience with AWS services including API Gateway, Lambda, EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service), IAM, Secrets Manager, and CloudWatch. API Development & Integration: Strong understanding of RESTful API design, security, deployment, and integration across distributed systems. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience using Terraform or CloudFormation to automate infrastructure provisioning and environment setup. CI/CD Pipeline Management: Expertise in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline, ensuring seamless deployment across environments. Containerization & Orchestration: Proficient in working with Docker and Kubernetes clusters, with knowledge of scaling, monitoring, and maintaining containerized applications. Security & Compliance: Familiarity with AWS security best practices, role-based access control (RBAC), and secrets/token management for secure deployments. Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Ability to configure and utilize AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, or similar tools for real-time monitoring and issue resolution. Collaboration & Communication: Strong interpersonal and cross-functional communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with development, operations, and security teams in a global delivery model. Preferred: Experience in microservices architecture and serverless application development. Familiarity with Cloud integrations or similar contact center platforms.
