• Senior Backend Engineer (Java, Kafka, AWS)

  We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems. You will work on modern applications using Java, APIs, Kafka, and AWS, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.

  Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java.

  • Build and manage REST APIs and microservices.

  • Develop event-driven systems using Apache Kafka.

  • Deploy and manage applications on AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, CloudWatch).

  • Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code.

  • Perform code reviews and mentor junior developers.

  • Troubleshoot performance, security, and reliability issues.

  • Work closely with frontend, DevOps, QA, and product teams.

  • Follow best practices for coding, testing, and CI/CD.

  Required Skills & Technologies

  • 6+ years of backend development experience.

  • Strong experience in Java and object-oriented programming.

  • Hands-on experience with REST APIs and microservices.

  • Experience with Apache Kafka.

  • Experience with AWS cloud services.

  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.

  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.

  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum and SDLC.

You will play a key role in architecting and developing backend services using Java, frameworks like Spring or Micronaut, and integrating with event-driven systems using Kafka. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, writes clean, testable code, and has a passion for delivering high-quality backend solutions. Develop and expose RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL endpoints for frontend and external integrations. Work with Kafka or similar messaging platforms to implement event-driven architectures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Contribute to architectural decisions, technical documentation, and system design. Ensure high test coverage and participate in peer code reviews. Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab CI/CD. Monitor and troubleshoot production issues and improve system observability. Required Skills & Experience 6+ years of backend development experience with Java. Strong knowledge of Spring Boot and/or Micronaut frameworks. Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL.
