Job Description - Senior ServiceNow Developer (ITSM & CMDB)

Experience Required: 6+ Years in ServiceNow Implementation
Role Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior ServiceNow Developer with strong hands-on expertise in ServiceNow IT Service Management (ITSM) and ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in end-to-end ServiceNow implementations, platform customization, integration development, and CMDB architecture. The individual should be capable of independently designing and delivering scalable, enterprise-grade ServiceNow solutions.
Key Responsibilities
ServiceNow Development & Implementation
- Design, configure, and customize ServiceNow applications
- Develop workflows, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, Script Includes
- Implement Flow Designer solutions and automation
- Develop catalog items, record producers, and service portal components
- Perform platform upgrades and patch validations
ITSM Module Expertise (Mandatory)
Hands-on implementation experience across:
- Incident Management
- Problem Management
- Change Management
- Service Request Management
- Knowledge Management
- SLA configuration
Responsibilities include:
- Designing process-driven ITSM solutions
- Customizing forms, workflows, notifications
- Configuring SLAs, assignment rules, and approvals
- Ensuring alignment with ITIL best practices
CMDB & Configuration Management (Mandatory)
Strong experience in:
- CMDB data model & CI class hierarchy
- CI relationship mapping
- Identification & Reconciliation Engine (IRE)
- CMDB health dashboards
- Data normalization
- Discovery & service mapping exposure (preferred)
Responsibilities include:
- Designing CMDB architecture
- Implementing CI lifecycle governance
- Supporting integrations feeding CMDB
- Ensuring data accuracy & compliance
Integrations & Technical Expertise
- Develop REST/SOAP integrations
- Work with mid servers where required
- Create inbound/outbound integrations with third-party tools
- Experience with LDAP, SSO, or identity integrations preferred
Collaboration & Delivery
- Work with Business Analysts & Architects to convert requirements into technical design
- Provide technical estimations
- Participate in sprint planning and agile ceremonies
- Conduct code reviews and ensure coding standards
- Support UAT and production deployments
Performance & Governance
- Optimize system performance
- Follow development best practices
- Maintain documentation
- Support platform governance and security standards
Mandatory Skills & Competencies
- 6+ years of ServiceNow implementation experience
- Strong hands-on expertise in:
- ServiceNow IT Service Management
- ServiceNow Configuration Management Database
- Proficiency in:
- JavaScript (Server-side & Client-side)
- Glide APIs
- Flow Designer
- Strong understanding of ServiceNow data model
- Experience working in enterprise-scale implementations
- ITIL process understanding
- Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills
