Job Description

• Work with customers to identify and refine business innovations and new concepts.
• Collaborate with team members to identify new enterprise platform capabilities and business workflows.
• Understand, implement, and configure application requirements using platform components.
• Evaluate and adopt the latest Appian technologies and components.
• Develop robust, reusable, and reliable Appian components that enhance the platform.
• Create system assets that comply with all relevant access control and security standards.
• Share ideas and concepts with development teams to improve and extend platform capabilities.
• Own and curate the Appian Center-of-Excellence (CoE) documentation, including best practices, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
• Contribute to developer growth by exchanging knowledge and ideas with team members.
• Improve team performance through regular activity reviews and by identifying opportunities for new ways of working together.
• Work in cross-functional development environments to ensure platform capabilities are effectively used and supported across products and services.
• Perform technical design reviews and code reviews.
• Ensure unit testing is completed and meets test plan requirements; oversee completion of system testing and implementation according to the execution plan.
• Support environmental promotion and configuration of releases throughout the release life cycle.
• Coordinate on-call support and ensure effective system monitoring.
• Maintain the technical development environment.
• Facilitate group sessions to gather complex information for requirements clarification, design discussions, code reviews, and issue troubleshooting.
• Support vendor evaluation activities.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or technical institute training.
• Strong understanding of end‑user application development and best practices.
• Five or more years of experience as an Appian Designer required, or equivalent experience with low‑code platforms or web development.
• Experience as an Appian Developer is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience in the healthcare industry is highly desired.
• Experience with various design patterns.
• Preferred experience with multiple databases, programming languages, or business applications.
