Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Lead II - Power BI & Microsoft Fabric to drive enterprise-scale data analytics solutions. This role combines deep technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, including architecture design, team mentorship, and stakeholder engagement to deliver high-impact business intelligence solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
Architect and design scalable BI solutions using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric
Lead implementation of end-to-end data solutions (ingestion transformation visualization)
Define best practices for data modeling, performance tuning, and report design
Oversee development of Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, and Dataflows Gen2 in Fabric
Ensure optimization of semantic models, DAX calculations, and large dataset handling
Delivery & Execution
Own delivery of BI projects from requirements to deployment
Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
Ensure data quality, governance, and security (RLS, data lineage, compliance)
Manage release pipelines and CI/CD for Power BI and Fabric assets
Team Leadership
Lead and mentor a team of Power BI developers and data engineers
Conduct code reviews and enforce development standards
Provide technical guidance and resolve complex challenges
Drive knowledge sharing and capability building within the team
Stakeholder Management
Act as the primary point of contact for business and leadership teams
Present dashboards, insights, and architectural decisions to senior stakeholders
Influence data strategy and BI roadmap
Required Skills
Expert-level experience with Power BI (Desktop, Service, Deployment Pipelines)
Strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Fabric: Data Factory
Dataflows Gen2
Lakehouse & Warehouse
Advanced proficiency in: DAX
Power Query (M)
SQL
Strong knowledge of: Data modeling (star schema, performance optimization)
ETL/ELT frameworks
Data warehousing and analytics architecture
Preferred Skills
Experience with: Azure ecosystem (Synapse, Data Factory, ADLS)
Databricks / Spark
Python for data engineering
Familiarity with: DevOps practices (Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines)
Data governance and catalog tools
Exposure to real-time or streaming analytics
Experience
8-12+ years in Data & Analytics / BI domain
3-5+ years leading teams or projects
Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale BI solutions
Soft Skills
Strong leadership and mentoring ability
Excellent stakeholder communication and presentation skills
Strategic thinking with hands-on execution capability
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
Certifications (Preferred)
Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate
Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate
Nice to Have
Experience defining enterprise BI strategy
Exposure to AI/ML integration with BI
Experience in domain-specific analytics (Finance, Retail, Healthcare, etc.)
