Job Summary

We are seeking a talented API Engineer to design, build, and maintain highly scalable, secure, and performant RESTful APIs. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with API development, strong knowledge of HTTP and authentication standards, and practical exposure to API management and cloud platforms—AWS experience is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality RESTful APIs.

• Ensure API performance, scalability, and security at all stages.

• Collaborate with frontend, backend, and product teams to integrate new and existing APIs.

• Manage API versioning, rate limiting, throttling, and error handling.

• Implement secure authentication and authorization using OAuth2, JWT, API Keys.

• Monitor API performance, identify issues, and troubleshoot effectively.

• Create and maintain API documentation using Swagger / OpenAPI.

• Contribute to defining best practices, standards, and patterns for API development.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong understanding of REST principles and API design best practices.

• AWS experience is mandatory.

• Strong working knowledge of HTTP concepts, JSON, XML, headers, and status codes.

• Hands-on experience with OAuth2, JWT, API Keys, and securing APIs end-to-end.

• Experience with API management platforms such as Kong, AWS API Gateway, or similar.

• Expertise in API lifecycle management: design, deployment, versioning, deprecation.

• Experience with rate limiting, caching, logging, and monitoring for APIs.

• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience in Java development is an added advantage.
