To lead and manage all instrumentation and control engineering activities for oil and gas projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, client specifications, and project requirements within budget and schedule constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the instrumentation discipline in FEED, detailed engineering, and EPC projects.
- Prepare, review, and approve engineering deliverables including:
- Instrument index, I/O lists
- Data sheets, specifications, and material requisitions
- Instrument layouts, hook-up drawings, cable routing
- Control narratives and logic diagrams
- Ensure compliance with international codes and standards (ISA, IEC, API, ANSI).
- Develop and review P&IDs, instrument selection, and control system architecture.
- Define project scope for instrumentation deliverables and estimate man-hours.
- Plan and allocate resources for instrumentation engineering tasks.
- Monitor project progress and report status to the project manager.
- Ensure adherence to schedule, quality, and cost requirements.
- Prepare technical material requisitions for instruments, control systems, and packages.
- Review vendor documents and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Interface with other disciplines and collaborate with construction, commissioning, and procurement teams.
- Support site activities and resolve technical queries.
- Implement QA/QC requirements for instrumentation deliverables.
- Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, ALARP and support risk assessments and design reviews.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation / Electronics Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 15 years of experience in instrumentation engineering for oil & gas projects, including FEED and EPC phases
- At least 5 years in a lead role managing teams
- Experience with DCS/PLC/SCADA systems and instrumentation for onshore/offshore oil & gas facilities
- Strong knowledge of international design codes and standards (ISA, IEC, API)
