Job Title: Site Engineer – Interiors & Finishing Works
Position Overview:
The Site Engineer – Interiors & Finishing Works
will be responsible for overseeing all interior and finishing activities at the project site, ensuring that high-quality workmanship, materials, and design intent are achieved within the planned timelines and budgets. The role requires deep technical expertise in finishing materials, detailing, coordination, and execution supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Site Execution & Finishing Supervision
- Plan, supervise, and execute interior and finishing works as per approved drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Monitor on-site activities such as false ceiling, flooring, wall finishes, joinery, painting, and polishing.
- Ensure proper sequence of finishing operations to maintain smooth workflow.
- Inspect workmanship to maintain high standards of precision and detailing.
- Coordinate snag rectification and final finishing prior to handover.
2. Material Management & Quality Control
- Verify all incoming materials and finishes against approved samples and specifications.
- Ensure correct storage and handling of sensitive finishing materials (tiles, veneers, marble, etc.).
- Conduct mock-ups and approve samples for client/designer confirmation.
- Identify and resolve quality issues or deviations immediately on site.
- Maintain strict control on wastage and ensure optimal material utilization.
3. Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with architects, interior designers, and MEP teams to resolve interface and detailing issues.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors for timely execution and installation.
- Attend daily and weekly site meetings to review progress and action items.
- Communicate effectively with the Project Manager regarding milestones, challenges, and solutions.
4. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily site reports, measurement sheets, and progress records.
- Assist in preparing bills, verifying quantities, and certifying subcontractor work.
- Track progress against timelines and highlight potential delays.
- Support in creating snag lists, quality checklists, and final handover documentation.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Interior Design.
4–5 years of experience in interior fit-out and finishing works (residential / commercial / hospitality).
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong understanding of finishing materials, detailing, and sequence of works.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting GFC drawings and shop drawings.
- Knowledge of surface preparation, levelling, waterproofing, and finishing standards.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Office, and project tracking tools.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong eye for detail and design quality.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Proactive problem-solving and site management capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple teams and deliver under tight deadlines.
