Job summary
•Monitor and endorse the work of partner companies in the preparation of technical contract data, specifications, drawings, for infrastructure projects
•Oversee quality and quantity of work of partner companies and contractors, and ensures compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements
•Assist Project Head with time and cost management of construction projects
Roles & responsibilities
External contractor management
•Manage contractors at the construction site to ensure seamless execution of project plan
-Ensure contractors deliver services within scope of work (cost, quality, time)
-Provide contractors with detailed project schedules so that they are aware of critical milestones
-Maintain and update project related documents, especially ones that are filled onsite
-Perform final handover to Asset Management department with documents
•Assists the Project Head to coordinate building or & infrastructure projects and manage partner companies
•Work closely with contractor to interpret and explain plans and specifications
•Enforce Qatari regulations/policies to contractors and liaises with the Project Head regarding possible changes to plans (variation, addendum, extension of time) and problem
•Monitor and endorses the work completed by the contractor on the development of the construction contract package (architectural, civil, electrical and mechanical aspects of technical design, drawings and specifications, engineering estimates and project budgets & job scheduling)
•Provide technical liaison to the Procurement & Contracts department as requested by the Project Head / Manager of Building/ Landscape etc. Projects during invitation, receipt & evaluation of bids, & contract finalization
•Ensure that damage, accidents, delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction sites have been investigated appropriately by the contractor and that appropriate actions are taken to deal with the impact.
•Ensure that contractor and relevant comply with to Qatari building, fire, safety, handicap and environmental codes and regulations
•Inspect safety aspects of jobs in progress; encourages contractor to observe applicable safety rules and regulations
Construction management activities
•Recommend changes to contract, collects data and makes recommendation to Project Head I Manager of Building/ Landscape etc. Projects on budget requirements, work progress, milestones achieved and recommend operational budgets, expenditure and provide technical advice to support evaluation of contractors' claims
•Manage project files - this will include as-built drawings, design data, project contracts, specifications and drawing submittals etc.
•Review logs and records of work performed in relation to construction management activities:
-Manage preparation of periodic and special reports as required
-Review accuracy of reports of contract work and other assigned activities
-Review progress, performance and completion of reports, purchase requests, requisitions, and reports of cl
•Assist the Project Head where required to approve payments &reimbursements in accordance with contract terms & conditions - payments &reimbursements will be forwarded to Controls Department for final payment

•Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance
Capabilities /skills
Business capabilities
•7+ years progressive experience in project management, engineering, construction, project controls and procurement
•Experience in aspects of project management and project control activities
Education
•Bachelor's degree in engineering, or Construction Management
•Preferably with membership of a Professional Engineering
Interpersonal skills
•Strong technical competency
•Experienced in working in multi-cultural environments
•Assertiveness and decision maker
•Ability to prioritize with high degree of agility
