The Lead Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing industrial equipment in a manufacturing job-shop environment. This position performs mechanical and electrical maintenance work and must have strong knowledge of overhead crane systems. The role includes troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining CNC machines, welding and fabrication equipment, cranes, forklifts, and other production and facility equipment. This position requires leadership ability, technical expertise, and strong prioritization and resource-management skills.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance installations, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on facility and plant equipment.
- Complete daily assignments for plant and equipment PMs.
- Install, maintain, and repair overhead cranes, industrial machine tools, forklifts, and facility systems.
- Assist in complex machine setups as needed.
- Provide guidance, support, and direction to other maintenance technicians within Plant 2.
- Maintain a safe work environment by complying with safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 7 + years in maintenance, with broad and extensive experience with installing, maintaining and repairing heavy industrial machinery.
- Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance experience required.
- Demonstrated experience inspecting, maintaining, and repairing overhead cranes.
- Detailed working knowledge and a depth of experience with the repairs of industrial related material handling equipment including but not limited to forklifts, boom lifts, articulating aerial lifts, man lifts, scissor lifts, and similar equipment.
- Demonstrated ability of interpreting, diagnosing and solving complex electrical control systems, PLC logic and CNC controls and their interface with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Experience with precision guidance adjustments and prior work on precision bearing, shaft, and gearing assembly fittings.
- Experience installed and leveling large industrial precision equipment.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations.
- Prior experience in maintaining fab shop equipment, including welders, positioners, and paint booth spray systems is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent continuous improvement certifications
- Competent with the Microsoft Suite of programs
- Formal Industrial Maintenance training
Essential Physical Functions Needed
Be able to sit, squat, stand, kneel, turn, twist, crawl, lay flat, stretch, use ladders, lift objects up to 75 lbs., as intermittently needed to support all requirements of the job.Ability to use all standard and specialized PPE is required to accomplish the task at hand, including but not limited to respirators, fall protection, eye protection, hearing protection, and electrical shock protection.
