Lead Mechanic

Experience: Three to five years in maintenance and repairs of a comparable facility, preferably in a hospitality setting past performance should include some general plumbing, carpentry, and painting primary experience must be in the operation of HVAC equipment specific types of equipment are:

• Carrier or other steam absorption chilling equipment
• Two/four pipe HVAC units
• Digital control/computer Management Systems
• Packaged HVAC units

Skills and Qualifications:

• Fluency in the English language, clear verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to know and follow safe working practices
• Ability to troubleshoot cause and effect of problems, creating a solution plan
• Ability to read, understand and effectively utilize: blueprints, schematic drawings, manufacturer specifications and established operating procedures
• Concise delegation of work assignments and follow through same
• Supervisory talents, working with various employee skill levels
• Desire to take ownership of a problem and implement solutions
• Provides direct supervision and follow up of tradesmen
• Maintain work reports and records
• Manage purchasing and inventory of tools and parts
• Coordinate in house jobs and projects
• Manage a utility management program to conserve energy without discomfort to guests, tenants and employees
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
• 100% flexibility in scheduling
• *Needs to have NYC refrigeration license, sprinkler license and standpipe license (S 12 & S13), Air Compressor License, Super fuel licenses (for generator gas pipe operation)
