Position Overview:
The Lead Med Tech plays a vital role in ensuring seamless communication and support for resident care. Reporting directly to the Administrative Assistant, this position serves as the frontline liaison for resident needs while also providing essential support to the Administrative Assistant and Resident Care Coordinator. The Lead Med Tech position is Monday through Friday 7am to 3pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of communication for resident care needs, including addressing Medication Administration Record (MAR) corrections, and managing medication orders.
- Review, document, and maintain accurate records of resident orders and appointment summaries.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers regarding medication refills, denials, resident refusals, and other medication-related concerns.
- Guide and oversee Med Tech staff.
- Assist with Veterans Affairs (VA) coordination to ensure residents receive appropriate care.
- Facilitate communication with pharmacies and oversee medication management processes.
- Monitor and review staff checklists to ensure completion of assigned tasks.
- Act as a liaison for staffing concerns, identifying issues and escalating them to the HR Manager for resolution - if needed.
- Participate in monthly leadership team meetings, contributing insights and updates on resident care.
- Provide on-call support, rotating on-call weeks with the other supervisors.
- Assist with additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned to support resident care and operational efficiency.
- Maintain part of on call rotation, assisting staff with questions/ concerns, and managing schedule for weekend shifts. ( Week long on call, every 5-6 weeks - with additional bonus)
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Experience in medication assistance and resident care.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Leadership skills to guide and support Med Tech staff.
- Familiarity with VA services and pharmacy coordination is a plus.
This role is crucial in ensuring high-quality resident care, effective team collaboration, and smooth day-to-day operations.
Requirements:
- Current HCA or CNA certification (or valid NAR grandfathered in).
- Willingness to complete company-provided training in mental health, dementia, developmental disabilities, and therapeutic options within 60 days of hire.
- Food Handler’s Permit (within 14 days of hire).
- CPR/First Aid certification. ( We can help you obtain this)
- Must be 18 years or older and pass a background check per WS State DSHS regulations.
