Job Overview
The Lead Mental Health Technician (MHT) serves as the on-shift leader responsible for overseeing daily operations, supporting staff performance, and ensuring the safety and therapeutic integrity of the treatment environment.

This role combines direct patient care with leadership responsibilities, acting as the primary liaison between Mental Health Technicians and the clinical team.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support MHT staff during assigned shifts.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for staff concerns and workflow coordination.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and support to team members.
  • Assist with training and onboarding of new staff.
  • Monitor performance and report concerns to leadership.
  • Provide direct patient care in accordance with treatment plans.
  • Monitor patient behavior and emotional stability.
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment.
  • Conduct safety checks and enforce protocols.
  • Respond to behavioral escalations using de-escalation techniques.
  • Participate in emergency response situations.
  • Follow proper incident reporting protocols.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field preferred.
  • 1–2 years experience in mental health or substance use setting.
  • Leadership experience preferred.
  • CPR & First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain).

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
