Salary range: $68100.00 - $85317.87

Who We Are:

Wildwood School provides a comprehensive educational program for students with autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities to prepare them to be as independent as possible. Academic, social, employment, and functional skills are taught to each student as driven by their Individual Educational Plan (IEP), needs, and interests.

Requirements

Education /Experience /Skills

Required

  • An Associate's degree in Applied Science in Nursing (A. A.) or equivalent from a regionally accredited two-year college or nursing school .

  • NYS License as a Registered Professional Nurse

  • Computer: Word Processing; email

Preferred:

  • Four year nursing degree preferred.

  • Previous experience working with people with disabilities preferred

  • Supervisory experience preferred

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Organizes and manages the functions of the school health offices for the purpose of ensuring efficient and effective care for the students.

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance of policies and procedures;

  • Submits reports required by the Department of Health regarding Immunization survey and assists in the review of immunization records to assure compliance with NYS Law.

  • Ensures medication and treatments are administered according to policies and are in compliance with the NYS Nurse Practice Act.

  • Coordinates the services/monthly meetings, provided by the Medical Consultant and gather medical information from health professionals regarding students’ medical treatment.

  • Serves as a medical resource for students, staff, and families. Notifies families when students need physical examinations, assists with follow up or communicates in the event of an injury or illness at school.

  • Supervises the school nurses and school nurse substitutes. Coordinates coverages with school nurses substitutes as needed.

  • Serves as a liaison between school nurses, school administration, and Wildwood Director of Nursing

Additional Requirements:

  • A valid New York State Driver’s License and ability to drive and driving record acceptable for agency insurance coverage are required.
  • Must have daily access to their own vehicle and drive our students when the program requires it.
  • Required to complete, pass, and use CALM training, provided by the school, which includes de-escalation strategies and approved protective holds and movements for students.
