This position is required to work on-site in either our Chicagoland (Glenview, IL) or Omaha (Elkhorn, NE) office most days. Everyone receives 3 flexible remote days per month and 6 additional Friday PTO days each year!

We are seeking a highly-skilled Lead OnBase Application Developer with 8–10 years of experience to support and enhance our enterprise content management and business workflow capabilities. Experience in insurance or financial services will make you stand out as an excellent candidate! Reporting to our Director of Application Development, this role will focus on automating workflows, managing policy and claims documentation, and integrating OnBase with core insurance systems to improve operational efficiency and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain OnBase solutions tailored to insurance operations, including policy administration, claims processing, underwriting, and compliance.
  • Build and optimize workflows, Unity Forms, applications, and document management solutions to support insurance business processes.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, underwriters, claims adjusters, peers withing IT to gather requirements and deliver scalable OnBase solutions.
  • Integrate OnBase with core insurance platforms such as proprietary systems using APIs and web services.
  • Ensure secure and compliant handling of sensitive insurance documents and data.
  • Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and enhancements for existing OnBase applications.
  • Maintain technical documentation and participate in system upgrades and performance tuning.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 8–10 years of experience in OnBase development and administration, with previous experience in a senior or lead role .
  • Strong knowledge of OnBase modules including Workflow, Unity Forms, and Document Composition.
  • Experience with OnBase APIs, and integration tools.
  • Proficiency in .NET (C# or VB.NET), SQL Server, and web technologies (HTML, JavaScript).
  • Familiarity with insurance operations and terminology (e.g., policy lifecycle, claims, underwriting).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hyland OnBase Certifications (OCSA, OCWA).
  • Experience integrating OnBase with insurance systems like LifePro and/or Salesforce.
  • Experience with the following;
    • Document Import Processor
    • Directory Import Processor
    • Unity Scripts
    • Reporting Dashboards
    • Scanning Import
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.

Compensation will depend on several factors such as specific competencies, relevant education and experience, qualifications, and industry certifications. Compensation ranges are subject to change and may be higher or lower than the range described above.
