Lead Pharmacist (Part-Time / Hybrid)

Job Summary:
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to healthcare delivery in a remote island setting while enjoying a flexible part-time and hybrid work arrangement. The consultant will assess, validate, and optimize clinical pharmacy systems, including formulary design, medication stock levels, procurement processes, and clinical suitability of medicines.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional leadership and guidance for pharmacy services.
- Oversee medication management processes and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Support the procurement, storage, inventory control, and distribution of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
- Review and optimize medication-use practices to enhance patient safety and quality of care.
- Develop, implement, and maintain pharmacy policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Provide clinical pharmacy advice and support to healthcare professionals.
- Assist with audits, quality improvement initiatives, and accreditation requirements.
- Support staff training, mentoring, and professional development.
- Liaise with suppliers, regulatory authorities, and healthcare stakeholders as required.
- Prepare reports and recommendations related to pharmacy operations and service improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
- Current pharmacist registration/license in the country of practice.
- Minimum 10+ years of pharmacy experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities in hospital.
- Strong knowledge of medication safety, pharmacy operations, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Experience working in remote, rural, island, or resource-limited healthcare environments will be highly regarded.
- Only hospital experience is preferred.
