Overview:
As the Lead Physiotherapist at Al-Qadsiah Club, you will provide clinical leadership, organisation, and delivery of physiotherapy services for the Women’s Programme (First Team and Academy). You will lead a team of physiotherapists within an integrated performance department, ensuring the highest standards of injury prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and performance support in a high-performance football environment.
Clinical Leadership and Service Delivery

Lead the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of players to ensure optimal health and performance

Oversee daily physiotherapy provision across training and matchdays

Ensure evidence-based practice is consistently applied throughout the department

Maintain high standards of clinical governance, documentation, and audit processes

Work closely with the performance department to maximise player availability and performance
Staff Management and Organisation

Lead, manage, and mentor physiotherapy staff within the women’s programme
-
Develop clear roles, responsibilities, and workflows across the physiotherapy team

Coordinate staff rotas to ensure effective coverage across training, matches, and rehabilitation sessions

Deliver regular CPD sessions, case reviews, and performance feedback

Support the recruitment and onboarding of medical and performance staff
Injury Prevention and Performance Integration

Design and implement injury prevention strategies aligned with the demands of elite women’s football

Collaborate with Strength & Conditioning, Sports Science, Nutrition, and Coaching staff to support performance outcomes

Use screening, monitoring, and testing data to inform injury risk management strategies

Integrate gym-based and pitch-based prehabilitation programmes

Develop female athlete health pathways in collaboration with the Club Doctor to ensure athlete-specific needs are addressed
Data, Technology and Reporting

Lead physiotherapy input into the Athlete Management System (AMS)

Ensure accurate recording of injury data, treatment logs, and player availability metrics
-
Collaborate with data staff to monitor injury trends and produce actionable insights

Contribute to weekly medical and performance reports to support decision-making
Matchday and Training Support

Lead physiotherapy provision during training sessions and matchdays
-
Ensure all emergency medical procedures and equipment are in place and operational

Coordinate pitch-side injury management and immediate care

Travel with the team for domestic and international fixtures

Provide clear communication regarding player availability, risk status, and return-to-play timelines
Culture and Leadership

Drive a high-performance, accountable, and collaborative culture across the department

Promote player education and ownership of health, recovery, and wellbeing

Act as a role model for professionalism and high standards throughout the programme
Qualifications
Desirable:
-
Postgraduate qualification in Sports Physiotherapy or a related discipline
-
Experience working within women’s professional football
-
Additional specialist qualifications in elite sport rehabilitation or performance medicine
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Essential:
-
Degree in Physiotherapy and registration with a recognised governing body (e.g. HCPC or equivalent)

Minimum of five years’ experience in elite sport, ideally within professional football
-
Proven experience leading or managing medical and physiotherapy teams
-
Strong understanding of elite female athlete health and performance considerations
-
Experience implementing return-to-play frameworks and performance integration strategies
-
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
-
Strong organisational and planning capabilities
-
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary performance environment
-
High attention to detail and commitment to professional standards
Desirable:
-
Experience using GPS systems such as STATSports
-
Experience using force platforms such as ForceDecks
-
Familiarity with Athlete Management Systems including Kitman Labs or Smartabase
-
Experience working in the Middle East or within international football environments
