Job Summary
We are seeking a nurturing, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic Qualified Lead Preschool Teacher to join our child care center. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood development, skilled in creating engaging learning environments and activities, and committed to building strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute comprehensive lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards.
  • Lead classroom activities that promote childhood development across cognitive, social, emotional, and physical domains.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management techniques to create a respectful and supportive learning environment.
  • Oversee daily childcare routines including toddler care, diapering, meal times, and nap schedules to ensure comfort and safety.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding children’s day.
  • Supervise assistant teachers and support staff to maintain high standards of classroom management and child safety.
  • Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools when appropriate to monitor developmental progress and inform instruction.
  • This position requires active engagement throughout the day, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and sitting on the floor with children. The Lead Preschool Teacher must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds as needed (such as moving classroom materials or assisting children), respond quickly in emergency situations, and safely support children during transitions, outdoor play, and routine care.

Qualifications

  • Certification (CDA or 90-clock hours) or degree in early childhood education or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings.
  • Available to work a full time, Monday-Friday schedule.
  • Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management techniques.
  • The ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 40 pounds, including classroom materials and, when necessary, providing physical support to children.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Certification or degree in early childhood education or a related field is required.
