Lead Presentation Designer - Job Description

Role Summary

We are hiring a Lead Presentation Designer to own the quality, delivery, and growth of our Presentation function. This role will lead a team of PPT designers, set standards and processes for slide design, data visualization, and motion, manage bandwidth and priorities, and work closely with stakeholders to ensure timely, consistent, and high-impact presentation deliverables. The role is both strategic and hands-on — providing creative leadership while actively contributing to critical design projects.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & People Management

- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of PPT/visual designers; conduct regular 1:1s, career development plans, and performance reviews.

- Foster a collaborative, positive, and creative work culture.

- Drive retention initiatives and team engagement.

Operational Ownership

- Manage resource allocation and bandwidth to meet deadlines and SLAs.

- Build capacity plans, identify hiring needs, and propose resource adjustments based on project inflow.

- Implement and maintain efficient workflows between content owners, project managers, and design teams.

Quality, Standards & Governance

- Create and maintain slide design standards, master templates, and a reusable slide library (PowerPoint/Google Slides/Keynote).

- Ensure brand governance for presentation assets and consistent application across all outputs.

- Implement QA processes to improve first-time-right delivery and reduce rework.

Design & Delivery

- Provide creative direction for structuring narratives, visual storytelling, and data visualization.

- Review and polish high-impact client-facing decks and internal leadership presentations.

- Oversee motion and animation integration in presentations, ensuring output quality across platforms.

Upskilling & Culture

- Organize skill-building sessions, reviews, and design critiques.

- Champion the adoption of productivity tools, template automation, and AI-assisted design workflows.

Stakeholder & Project Management

- Act as the primary point of contact for presentation quality with internal teams.

- Prioritize design requests based on business impact and communicate trade-offs clearly.

Required Experience & Capabilities

- 8+ years of experience in presentation/visual design, with at least 2–4 years in a leadership role.

- Proven track record of managing a design team and delivering high-quality presentation outputs.

- Deep expertise in PowerPoint (masters, custom layouts, animations, export settings), with strong working knowledge of Google Slides and Keynote.

- Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality slide decks, storytelling, and data visualization.

- Hands-on design skills in typography, layout, composition, and color.

- Understanding of motion design principles and tools such as After Effects (preferred).

- Strong stakeholder management, prioritization, and project planning skills.

- Familiarity with performance management systems (e.g., Darwinbox) is a plus.

Technical Skills

Must-have

- PowerPoint (expert level)

- Google Slides

- Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator

- Figma or Adobe XD for templating/prototyping

Nice-to-have

- After Effects or Premiere for motion/animation

- Automation experience in PPT (macros, VBA, Python-pptx)

- Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)

Qualifications

- Degree in Design, Visual Communication, Multimedia, or equivalent experience.
