Lead Product Manager - Discovery

Reporting To: Senior Director of Product – Customer Domain

Job Purpose

The Lead Product Manager – Discovery shapes how Floward customers explore the platform and decide what to buy. The role owns all major discovery surfaces- Search, Browse, Homepage, PDP, CMS, Catalog Experience, and Occasion journeys- ensuring customers find relevant products quickly and effortlessly.

This role manages a cross-functional squad, leads the Discovery roadmap, and balances rapid experiments with foundational improvements across search quality, SEO infrastructure, navigation flows, and catalog usability. The position directly contributes to conversion, revenue, and customer satisfaction by strengthening Floward’s top-of-funnel experience.

Key Responsibilities

1. Discovery Strategy & Vision

• Define and own Floward’s Discovery vision across Search, Browse, PDP, SEO, and Catalog systems.
• Identify evolving customer behaviors and translate insights into strategy and long-term initiatives.
• Shape occasion-based discovery journeys to maximise relevance and browsing efficiency.

2. Roadmap & Prioritisation

• Build an integrated roadmap spanning Search, Browse, PDP, SEO, CMS, and catalog improvements.
• Prioritise initiatives based on customer value, business impact, and technical feasibility.
• Balance quick-win experiments with long-term foundational system upgrades.

3. Execution & Delivery

• Lead the squad through discovery, scoping, delivery, and iterative optimisation.
• Write PRDs, define KPIs, support engineering alignment, and manage release cadence.
• Conduct A/B tests and post-launch reviews to validate impact and refine features.

4. Cross-Functional Leadership & Alignment

• Work closely with UX, Engineering, Data, Marketing, Category, Operations, and Customer Success teams.
• Align with peer PMs in Purchase Experience, Flywheel, and Payments to create a cohesive funnel.
• Present insights, recommendations, and decisions clearly to senior stakeholders.

5. Team Leadership & Development

• Manage, coach, and develop a Junior PM focused on SEO and organic acquisition.
• Build strong product thinking, experimentation discipline, and customer-focused execution within the squad.
• Support recruitment and onboarding of additional product talent as the team scales.

6. Insights, Analytics & Experimentation

• Use customer insights, funnel data, and search/browse performance metrics to identify pain points.
• Partner with Data to define metrics, build dashboards, and evaluate experiments.
• Lead SEO strategy and ensure technical SEO foundations support multi-market growth.

Qualifications & Experience

• 5–8 years of product management experience in e-commerce, marketplaces, or discovery/search-heavy products.
• Proven track record owning Search, Browse, Catalog, SEO, or similar discovery systems.
• Strong analytical background; comfortable with SQL, experimentation, and dashboard analysis.
• Experience leading cross-functional delivery and running agile squads.
• Strong UX sense with the ability to translate insights into intuitive discovery flows.
• Experience managing or mentoring Product Managers is a plus.
• Bonus: Knowledge of ranking systems, personalization, technical SEO architectures, or catalog management systems.
