Lead Project Engineer

The T55 Project Engineering team has an opening for a Lead Project Engineer. Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate the interest, aptitude, and experience associated with the design, development, test and support of gas turbine engines for rotary-wing applications.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development and in-service support activity for a component, module or engine test through all aspects of the Integrated Product Delivery and Support (IPDS) process, on schedule, on budget and in compliance with all technical requirements.
  • Broad indirect span of control of approximately 10 full time equivalent engineers.
  • Cost account manager for assigned scope, including Earned Value Management System reporting. Annual budgetary responsibility approximately $4M.
  • Expected to serve as the single point leader for the component, module or test assignments
    • Lead a diverse cross functional team to accomplish the scope
    • Escalate effectively with leadership and cross-functionally across the organization
  • Strong commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Bias toward creative thinking and innovation in product design and approach to everyday work
  • Implement design-to-cost and variation-reduction strategies
  • Promote and build strong team working relationships
  • Manage within very difficult resource constraints
  • Identify gaps and risks on behalf of the team
  • Balances workload of the team members
  • Monitor work of team members to recognize when they are “stuck” or “off track”
  • Leverages technical experts to review the technical work of the team
  • Leads trade studies and RCCA activities
  • Communicate project status with internal and external customers
  • Guide and develop early career engineers

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 8+ years’ engineering experience in design, development, and/or test of complex mechanical system.
