The T55 Project Engineering team has an opening for a Lead Project Engineer. Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate the interest, aptitude, and experience associated with the design, development, test and support of gas turbine engines for rotary-wing applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development and in-service support activity for a component, module or engine test through all aspects of the Integrated Product Delivery and Support (IPDS) process, on schedule, on budget and in compliance with all technical requirements.
- Broad indirect span of control of approximately 10 full time equivalent engineers.
- Cost account manager for assigned scope, including Earned Value Management System reporting. Annual budgetary responsibility approximately $4M.
- Expected to serve as the single point leader for the component, module or test assignments
- Lead a diverse cross functional team to accomplish the scope
- Escalate effectively with leadership and cross-functionally across the organization
- Strong commitment to customer satisfaction
- Bias toward creative thinking and innovation in product design and approach to everyday work
- Implement design-to-cost and variation-reduction strategies
- Promote and build strong team working relationships
- Manage within very difficult resource constraints
- Identify gaps and risks on behalf of the team
- Balances workload of the team members
- Monitor work of team members to recognize when they are “stuck” or “off track”
- Leverages technical experts to review the technical work of the team
- Leads trade studies and RCCA activities
- Communicate project status with internal and external customers
- Guide and develop early career engineers
YOU MUST HAVE
- Must be a US Citizen
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- 8+ years’ engineering experience in design, development, and/or test of complex mechanical system.
