Lead Project Engineer Combat Systems - Fincantieri Services Doha

Job Description

We are looking for a Lead Project Engineer Combat Systems (CS) that will be inserted in the in the Program Management Team of Fincantieri Services Doha, the company dedicated to the life cycle management of the naval vessels of the Qatari Navy.

The figure will operate on an important foreign program that requires to be relocated in Doha, Qatar, at least for 2-3 years.

The Lead Project Engineer CS has the responsibility of monitoring the program developing during all its phases, with a specific focus on the Combat Systems of the vessels, guarantying for its compliance with the contractual specifications agreed with the Customer and identifying corrective actions.

The Lead Project Engineer CS support the Program Manager acting as the Technical reference with the Customer, evaluating any extra request and scheduling periodical technical meetings to ensure the optimal engineering and development process.

Activities and Responsibilities

The Lead Project Engineer CS has the following responsibilities:

• To manage the Maintenances’ plans and programs, ensuring the compliance with the contractual agreements, negotiated with the Client, and the compliance with the cost estimations;

• To guarantee and to monitor the respects of technical requirements, acting as focal point during all the life-cycle management activities, in particular the maintenance activities on the Combat Systems;

• To oversee with the Project Manager the solving of the variances with detailed plans, providing indications and resolution times to the functions involved;

• To manage the relationships with the Combat Systems suppliers;

• To manage meetings with the Customer in order to solve the conflicts.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or ICT Engineering;

• Working experience of at least 3-5 years in a similar role in a company that manage complex projects in the defense industry;

• Advanced knowledge of combat systems, with a focus on the naval systems;

• Fluent knowledge of English (both speaking and writing)

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel; good knowledge of Microsoft Project and SAP;

• Other soft skills that are considered essentials are flexibility, interpersonal skills, team-working attitude, problem solving, economic sensitivity, goal-oriented approach.
