Lead QA Automation Engineer

Job Description:

1. Data Warehouse & Database Expertise

• Strong SQL skills — ability to write complex queries (joins, window functions, CTEs, etc.).

• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts — facts, dimensions, star/snowflake schema, ETL pipelines, etc.

• Experience testing data migration between heterogeneous systems (e.g., SQL Server → Snowflake).

• Hands-on experience validating:

o Schema and metadata consistency

o Data completeness and accuracy

o Aggregation and transformation logic

o Performance and reconciliation checks

2. Snowflake

• Working knowledge of Snowflake:

o Querying using SnowSQL or Worksheets

o Understanding of Snowflake objects (warehouses, schemas, tables, views, stages, etc.)

o Familiarity with roles, permissions, and the Snowflake security model

• Nice-to-have:

o Hands-on with Snowpipe

o Experience integrating Snowflake with automation tools or Python

3. Automation Frameworks

• Experience building data validation automation frameworks (Python or Java-based).

• Hands-on with Pytest, unittest, or TestNG.

• Strong Python scripting skills for automation and data validation.

• Familiarity with DB connection libraries (e.g., pyodbc, snowflake-connector-python, JDBC).

• Experience developing automated ETL validation or data comparison utilities.

• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) for automated testing.

4. ETL & Data Pipeline Testing

• Good understanding of ETL tools (Informatica, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or dbt).

• Experience verifying source-to-target mappings and business rule transformations.

• Exposure to data reconciliation and performance testing of data pipelines.

Additional / Preferred Skills

• Experience with AWS ecosystem.

• Familiarity with Git-based workflows and test reporting tools.

• Basic understanding of Tableau, Power BI, or Looker to validate downstream reports.

• Exposure to data quality and monitoring tools.

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to work closely with Data Engineers, Business Analysts, and cross-functional teams.
