Sure Steel, Inc. is seeking a dynamic Lead Construction Recruiter specializing in skilled trades. This role is responsible for identifying, recruiting, and placing skilled trades professionals to support projects nationwide. This position plays a critical role in upholding Sure Steel’s values of integrity, safety, and continuous improvement by ensuring high-quality hiring decisions across multiple locations.
This role requires travel to project sites across the United States and close collaboration with field teams and leadership to meet staffing demands.

Proactively source qualified candidates for field roles including welders, fabricators, ironworkers, crane operators, and other skilled trades.

Utilize multiple recruiting channels including job fairs, trade shows, industry associations, and local outreach to build strong talent pipelines.

Establish partnerships with trade schools, vocational programs, and workforce development organizations.

Ensure all recruiting efforts comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies (EEO, confidentiality, etc.).

Conduct phone, virtual, and in-person interviews to evaluate candidate skills, experience, and project fit.

Coordinate and facilitate on-site interviews with Project Managers and field leadership.

Perform background checks, reference checks, and credential verification.

Maintain accurate records in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).

Partner with HR and field teams to manage onboarding, including paperwork, orientation, and safety training.

Collaborate with Project Managers to understand staffing needs and deliver timely hiring solutions.

Serve as a point of contact for new hires throughout onboarding.

Match candidates to roles based on experience, certifications, and project requirements.

Communicate regularly with leadership teams to align recruiting strategies with business needs.

Build and maintain relationships with Project Managers, field supervisors, subcontractors, unions, and community partners.

Attend project meetings, site visits, and industry events to identify hiring needs and build pipelines.

Act as a brand ambassador for Sure Steel, Inc.

High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in construction recruiting or skilled trades recruiting

Previous Lead or supervisory experience required

Strong understanding of construction trades and industry requirements

Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required

Proven ability to communicate effectively with leadership teams and field operations

Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and recruiting tools
