Are you a designer who lights up when a homeowner starts to see the possibilities? Do you thrive when a great design conversation naturally leads to a signed project? Are you the kind of creative professional who can inspire confidence, guide decisions, and move a project forward, not just draw it up?
If you combine real design talent with the consultative instincts to help homeowners say “yes,” this role was built with you in mind.
At Zenith Design + Build, our Designer / Design Consultant is far more than a drafter. You are a trusted guide for homeowners navigating one of the biggest investments they’ll make from the first design meeting through final material selections. Your ability to listen deeply, present compelling design solutions, and build the kind of trust that moves projects from concept to contract is what sets this role apart.
This is a highly visible, client-facing role for someone who is equally comfortable behind a screen designing in Chief Architect and sitting across the table from a homeowner walking them through options, budgets, and next steps. You’ll spend time in the Zenith office, in client homes, and at local showrooms wherever the project needs you.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Visualization – Lead the design process for residential remodels, additions, and custom projects — developing plans in Chief Architect and AutoCAD that bring the homeowner’s vision to life with creativity, accuracy, and buildability.
- Consultative Selling & Client Guidance – Serve as the primary client-facing point of contact during the design phase. Build trust, guide homeowners through design options and investment levels, and help them move forward with confidence. You’re not a hard closer — you’re a trusted advisor whose design expertise naturally earns commitment.
- Material & Finish Selections – Lead clients through the selection process for finishes, fixtures, cabinetry, tile, countertops, and more. Travel to local showrooms as needed, curate options, and ensure selections align with the design intent, budget, and timeline.
- Communication & Collaboration – Work in close partnership with Zenith’s sales team, project managers, and field staff. Provide clear, thorough design documentation and ensure a seamless handoff from design to production. Keep homeowners informed and engaged throughout the process.
- Client Experience & Brand Representation – Represent Zenith with professionalism, warmth, and confidence at every touchpoint. Your interactions should leave homeowners feeling heard, excited, and certain they chose the right team.
