Lead School Age Teacher

Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Lead School Age Teacher to join our vibrant educational team. This dynamic role involves guiding and inspiring children in school-age programs, fostering their growth through engaging activities, positive behavior management, and personalized support. As a Lead Teacher, you will create a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Your leadership will ensure that each child receives quality care and education aligned with developmental best practices and our core values.   • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote childhood development, early childhood education principles, and social-emotional learning for school-age children
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement, behavior management strategies, and clear expectations
  • Foster a safe environment by adhering to all safety protocols, including first aid procedures and emergency response plans
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan activities that incorporate sports coaching, theater, arts and crafts, and other enrichment programs
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to share progress updates, behavioral insights, and developmental milestones
  • Supervise children during indoor activities, outdoor play, field trips, camp outings, and special events such as tutoring sessions or childcare programs
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, incident reports, and developmental assessments to ensure compliance with licensing standards and program goals

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings such as daycare, camp, or tutoring programs
  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster a positive learning environment
  • Knowledge of childhood development theories and early childhood education best practices
  • Certification in first aid and CPR required; additional certifications in special education or behavior management are highly desirable
  • Ability to lead activities that support social skills, physical development, and academic growth
  • Excellent communication skills for working with children, parents, staff, and community partners
  • Passion for working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities; experience with special education is a plus
