Summary:

In this contingent resource assignment, you will facilitate the scrum process on scrum teams with cross functional impact that involve moderately complex software development, non-software development or support enablement work, guide the scrum team(s) and organization to follow Agile and Scrum practices and daily activities to actively promote prioritization, team readiness, and commitment for each Sprint

Use empirical data to help the team(s) assess their Scrum Maturity, optimize scrum team velocity to organizational KPIs, and identify improvement opportunities to achieve higher levels of team performance
Proactively address systemic impediments to team agility and guide the team(s) on methods to escalate when needed to prevent challenges from becoming blockers

Coach scrum team(s) to deliver capabilities using agile practices while also following the Software Development Lifecycle, business process mapping, and various release processes as appropriate to ensure all risk, security, and development requirements are met
Partner with agile transformation leaders to convey their concerns to scrum teams about governance policies and adherence to corporate standards.

Partner with Product Owner(s) and Product team to ensure continuous refinement of backlog
Drive Scrum adoption across all levels in the organization
Facilitate and be accountable for owning the Scrum or Kanban Agile ceremonies for the agile team(s)

Responsibilities:

The Scrum Master must demonstrate strong leadership presence with the ability to drive outcomes, influence without authority, and proactively escalate risks and impediments early and often. This role requires an individual who is comfortable operating in ambiguity, exercising sound judgment, and engaging the right stakeholders at the right time to protect delivery commitments and reduce enterprise risk.

• Specifically, the Scrum Master is expected to:
  Actively drive resolution of team impediments, cross‑team dependencies, and delivery risks by influencing Product Owners, technology partners, and leaders through clear, fact‑based communication.

• Identify, assess, and escalate risks early—within the sprint or planning horizon—ensuring leadership has timely visibility into issues that may impact scope, schedule, quality, or compliance.

• Escalate with intent and clarity, providing actionable context, options, and recommendations rather than simply raising awareness.

• Demonstrate ownership and accountability for surfacing concerns, challenging assumptions, and advocating for the team when delivery is at risk.

• Maintain a strong leadership presence during ceremonies and stakeholder interactions, confidently navigating difficult conversations and reinforcing agile discipline and expectations.

• Operate as a trusted escalation partner, ensuring transparency into decision points, tradeoffs, and process overrides, while reinforcing enterprise agile and risk management standards

Qualifications:

• Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

• Agile Scrum Master experience

• Scaled Agile methodologies or Large-Scale Scrum Framework (LeSS) experience

• Scrum Master certification or other advanced Agile certification
  Knowledge and understanding of Agile operational metrics such as: Velocity, Predictability, and Sprint burn-downs

• Experience in Kanban

• Experience moving teams and organizations from Waterfall to Agile methodologies and Agile Transformations
  Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships

• Must understand the SDLC best practices, be comfortable pushing back, have a coaching stance that allows for influence
