Work schedule will be Full-time on the Evening Shift, Sunday-Saturday (varies), 2:30pm-11:00pm.
Summary
The Lead Security Officer assists the Security Supervisor by supervising daily operation of their assigned shift in the absence of the Security Supervisor. Provides necessary assistance as requested by the Security Supervisor. In addition to these duties the Lead Security Officer will perform a variety of security and safety related functions while involved in the safeguarding of employees, patients, visitors, physicians, and property.
Other Information
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Bilingual a plus.
Basic computer knowledge to include a general knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel.
Ability to operate metal detector to determine whether or not weapons are present (hearing).
Ability to check identification badges (distinguish colors).
Ability to operate closed circuit TV, access control and various alarm systems and prepare reports (keyboarding).
Ability to drive full size vehicle and meet hospital driver's record requirements.
Ability to sit, walk and stand for two hours (Stand post, conduct walking patrols).
Ability to climb four flights of steps in 2 minutes (assist in evacuations).
Ability to traverse 2 blocks in four minutes (respond to alarms).
Ability to lift 70 pounds, apply physical force and engage in hands-on contact with individuals (to apply restraints and assist in emergency operations).
Satisfactory completion of annual, or as prescribed, range qualification program with the Officer's personal firearm which has been approved by department management.
Ability to work any hours and all days of the week.
