Job Summary

The Lead Server is responsible for overseeing the dining room’s daily operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and supporting and mentoring other servers. This role involves managing shifts, coordinating with the kitchen and bar staff, and handling customer inquiries and complaints.

Duties

· Supervise and mentor the service team, ensuring adherence to service standards. Assist in maintaining a culture of gentle coaching and direct feedback outside of service hours.

· Coordinate and oversee the dining room operations during shifts, including seating arrangements and table assignments (when manager is not present).

· Ensure that all service staff provide exceptional customer service and handle guest requests promptly.

· Assist with training new servers on the steps of service and the SOPs

· Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a professional manner (when manager is not present)

· Collaborate with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment (when manager is not present)

· Monitor and manage the flow of service to optimize efficiency and guest satisfaction.

· Assist with scheduling and managing shifts to ensure adequate staffing.

· Maintain a thorough knowledge of the menu, including specials, to effectively communicate with guests.

· Ensure the dining area is clean, organized, and well-maintained.

· Knowldege of Closing Procedures, Cash Handling, and Tip Distibution Systems.

· Ability to Run the floor as acting MOD and ensure smooth restaurant operations when the Manager is not present.

Qualifications

- Minimum 3-5 years experience working in an upscale restaurant

- Experienice working with POS systems and basic math skills

-Strong Team Player capable to leading by example and maintaining a culture of collaboration and cooperation in the restaurant

-Ability to maintain service standards of the team through gentle coaching and mentoring

- Strong sales skills with a focus on upselling menu items

- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

- Excellent communication and customer service skills

· Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.

· Ability to work flexible hours, including evening, weekends, and holidays.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
