Job Description:

Brief Job / Project Description:

The Integration & Automation Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting enterprise integration and automation solutions across business and technology domains. The role requires strong hands-on experience in MuleSoft as the primary platform, with the ability to contribute to automation and RPA initiatives by analyzing business processes, proposing suitable automation approaches, and implementing scalable solutions.

The ideal candidate should have solid experience in enterprise integration development using MuleSoft, combined with exposure to RPA / intelligent automation solutioning. Experience with MuleSoft RPA is highly preferred; however, experience with other RPA platforms is also valuable.

The resource is expected to work across the full delivery lifecycle, from requirements analysis and technical design through development, testing, deployment, and production support, while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and support enterprise-grade integrations and automation solutions across core business systems in hybrid environments.
  • Develop and maintain MuleSoft-based APIs, services, and integration flows to enable reliable communication between internal platforms and external systems.
  • Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for workflow automation, task automation, and RPA implementation.
  • Contribute to automation solution design by determining whether requirements are best addressed through API-based integration, RPA, or a combination of both.
  • Support end-to-end delivery of integration and automation solutions, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and hypercare/support.
  • Ensure high reliability, resilience, and operational stability of integration and automation solutions supporting business-critical processes.
  • Perform root cause analysis for production issues and implement permanent fixes to improve solution stability.
  • Apply enterprise development standards, security requirements, and best practices across both integration and automation implementations.
  • Collaborate with business teams, application owners, architects, infrastructure/platform teams, and security stakeholders to ensure proper solution alignment.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation, interface specifications, solution design artefacts, and support knowledge transfer where required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying reusable components, optimization opportunities, and better design patterns across integration and automation services.

  • Improved collaboration between business, application, architecture, and support teams through clear ownership and technical accountability.
  • Secure and supportable solutions aligned with enterprise architecture and security requirements.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional certifications in Integration platforms.
  • 7+years of relevant experience

Mandatory Technical Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform for enterprise integration development.
  • Solid experience in designing and developing REST APIs, system integrations, and service-based interfaces.
  • Strong understanding of API-led connectivity and integration best practices.
  • Experience with JSON, XML, transformation logic, and synchronous/asynchronous integration patterns.
  • Hands-on experience in implementing error handling, retry logic, logging, and monitoring for enterprise integrations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills for production issues.
  • Experience in RPA automation solutioning.
  • Understanding of attended vs unattended automation, workflow orchestration, bot design, and operational support considerations.
  • Experience integrating RPA solutions with APIs, enterprise applications, and shared services.
  • Familiarity with automation governance, exception handling, bot monitoring, and support models.
  • Experience with source control, CI/CD practices, and deployment processes for integration solutions.
  • Good understanding of enterprise security concepts such as OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS, and secure credential handling.
  • Experience documenting APIs and technical interfaces using standard documentation approaches.
  • Good understanding of hybrid environments spanning cloud and on-premises systems.
  • Ability to assess technical requirements and convert them into practical, supportable solution designs.

Tools / Platforms / Technologies:

  • MuleSoft Anypoint Platform
  • MuleSoft RPA preferred
  • Other RPA platforms such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, or Blue Prism are a plus
  • GitLab or similar source control / CI/CD tooling
  • Postman for API testing and validation
  • Monitoring and logging tools such as Datadog or equivalent
  • Jira and Confluence for work management and documentation
  • Secrets / credential management tools for secure configuration handling

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Advanced MuleSoft platform features including policies, SLAs, and analytics.
  • Experience with large-scale enterprise integration programs.
  • Integration solution architecture ownership and contribution to high-level design.
  • Strong understanding of API governance and domain-based API design.
  • Experience designing and supporting event-driven architectures at scale.
  • Ability to drive proactive reliability and resiliency improvements.
  • Strong cross-team coordination in complex initiatives.
  • MuleSoft certifications are a strong advantage.
