In this highly valued role, you’ll report to the market research and consumer insights manager and support the organization’s market research and insights needs - responsible for leading research initiatives end-to-end, from survey design, panel sample management, and programming to analysis, interpretation, and presentation of findings. Your work will uncover consumer behaviors, market dynamics, and competitive trends that directly inform marketing strategies, campaign performance, and strategic planning across the enterprise.
You’ll collaborate closely with leaders across Marketing & Communications and cross-functional teams to ensure insights are actionable, accessible, and aligned with Cincinnati Children’s growth and brand goals. The ideal candidate is an analytically minded strategist with hands-on expertise in survey programming, panel sample management, data analysis, and market trend evaluation - someone who thrives at the intersection of research, strategy, and storytelling.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client Relationship Management, Proactive Content & UX Strategy Enhancements
Independently manage the digital strategy consultation, including utilizing analytics data and user experience (UX) best practices to identify performance and content goals for each assigned client and CCHMC digital properties as a whole.
Exercise sound judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills to balance client goals, digital best practices, and established governance principles.
Determine and execute reporting needs to monitor performance to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and meet client requirements.
Proactively monitor and measure performance to goals and identify enhancements to achieve these goals.
Ensure all assigned digital properties maintain accurate and optimized information.
Show flexibility and adaptability in client interactions, adjusting communication methods to match each client’s interest, availability, goals, and technical knowledge.
Effectively translate technical or complex concepts into clear, layman’s terms appropriate for the client’s understanding and engagement level.
Search Engine Optimization Management and Digital Strategy Subject Matter Expertise
Use tools and experience to plan and execute search engine optimization (SEO) strategies and tactics, cross-linking efforts, and link analysis across digital properties and channels.
Develop SEO recommendations to support strategic improvements, measure results, and adjust content in coordination with colleagues and clients.
Conduct analyses to monitor site health, make recommendations, and execute internal/external linking, site content optimization, meta information, and other SEO components.
Help drive SEO strategy to maximize traffic and performance across all digital channels.
Participate in and lead team discussions about digital strategy best practices.
Document and share new information gathered through independent research and experiences gained through client relationship management, SEO application, and UX strategy enhancements.
Contribute to existing governance methods and identify and document new governance and sustainability needs.
Use digital analytics and content management tools to evaluate performance.
Identify opportunities to incorporate new tools and data analysis methods to improve both individual and group subject matter expertise.
Evaluate digital strategy efforts to ensure content is audience-focused, SEO optimized, mobile-first, efficient, and sustainable.
Support junior team members in their SEO and SME development through cross-training, job shadowing, and mentoring.
Audience Channel / Digital Property Strategist
Provide leadership for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of projects to ensure consistency with strategic goals and commitments.
Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and resource requirements.
Develop full-scale project plans and manage project budgets, resource allocation, and timelines.
Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of projects and scope.
Direct assigned project teams, including vendors and contractors, to ensure effective utilization of resources.
Constantly monitor project deliverables and report on progress to all stakeholders.
Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of project results upon completion.
Apply project management best practices to ensure consistency and efficiency across initiatives.
Large Scale Project Management
Provide leadership for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of large-scale projects ensuring alignment with institutional strategy and goals.
Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and resource requirements for high-impact initiatives.
Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, budgets, resource allocation, and timelines.
Oversee the day-to-day operational aspects of projects and ensure successful scope delivery.
Direct project teams, including vendors and contractors, ensuring effective collaboration and resource utilization.
Continuously monitor deliverables, providing progress updates to key stakeholders.
Conduct post-project evaluations to assess outcomes and identify lessons learned.
Apply expert-level project management principles to deliver consistent, quality results.
Team Leadership / Mentorship
Serve as a coach and mentor to junior team members, fostering professional growth and skills development.
Assume responsibility for recruitment, selection, onboarding, and ongoing development and performance management of two or more Digital Strategists.
Lead by example, contributing to and promoting a positive and professional work environment and team culture.
Work cross-institutionally to develop and execute digital tools leveraging a deep understanding of audience needs and digital best practices.
Lead efforts to define and implement new solutions, technologies, ontologies, and data automation opportunities that enhance both digital properties and organizational expertise.
Demonstrate expert-level competency in relevant concepts, terminology, and tools.
Consult with internal and external clients to define requirements and develop innovative solutions.
Ensure work directly impacts institutional priorities and business objectives.
Serve as a thought leader within Marketing and externally across the organization.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
7+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.
Project management experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Proven expertise in marketing research methodologies and statistical analysis, including A/B testing, revenue attribution, customer segmentation/personas, and marketing effectiveness measurement.
Hands-on experience with custom survey and research creation, from concept to data interpretation and presentation.
Proficiency in programming surveys using platforms such as Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, or Decipher, including management of sample/panel recruitment and deployment.
Demonstrated ability to analyze, synthesize, and develop competitive market assessments, turning data into actionable strategic insights.
Experience building and automating topline reports and dashboards that track performance, audience behavior, and campaign effectiveness.
Strong analytical and technical skills in coding, data visualization, and sentiment analysis to identify key trends and audience perspectives.
Proven experience maintaining brand equity tracking and/or experience research programs that inform strategic marketing and communication initiatives.
Skilled in healthcare or hospital data analysis and interpretation, with the ability to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Proficiency in Adobe Analytics or similar data management and analytics platforms.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, for data storytelling and executive reporting.
Moderator training and experience facilitating interviews, focus groups, or user experience testing sessions.
Passion for translating data and market insights into strategies that inform and inspire a wide range of internal stakeholders and organizational decisions.
