Lead, Taxation

Job summary:

To execute the organization's tax reporting and compliance obligations across various jurisdictions, ensuring adherence to applicable tax laws and regulations. The role involves analyzing tax implications of business operations, supporting the preparation of accurate tax filings, and maintaining comprehensive records to support effective tax management and strategic planning.


General Responsibilities:

  • Policy, Procedures, Process and Systems
  • Follow the operational strategy in compliance with group delegation of authority policy.
  • Ensure the compliance of organization’s policy, systems, processes, procedures, and controls in line with group delegation of authority policy so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service in a consistent manner.
  • Reporting
  • Ensure that all reports are completed timely and comply with the business and organization’s policies and standards.
  • Manage the preparation of periodical management reports and progress reports to keep the business senior management informed about the progress of various initiatives and to facilitate decision-making.
  • Comply with organization’s requirements in a timely manner.


Job Specific Responsibilities:

  • Support and coordinate with TAQA tax team and the tax advisors to prepare accurate tax filings for various jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with legal timelines and regulations.
  • Work with the TAQA tax team to monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on tax compliance.
  • Analyze legislative updates in tax laws to evaluate impacts on the organization and implement compliant strategies.
  • Coordinate document preparation for tax audits, including supporting schedules and explanations for auditor queries.
  • Resolve complex tax-related inquiries from different operational units, coordinate with TAQA tax team and tax advisors to provide detailed guidance and support.
  • Ensure meticulous maintenance of tax records for audit readiness and efficient retrieval.
  • Enforce adherence to established internal controls and policies concerning tax matters.
  • Facilitate internal workshops and training sessions to elevate the tax knowledge base within the organization.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax accounting standards and regulations and assess their impact on financial reporting.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent

6 years of relevant working experience
