Position Summary:
As a Lead Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting the early growth and development of infants and toddlers. You’ll create a warm, responsive, and developmentally appropriate environment that nurtures each child’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive skills. In this leadership role, you’ll guide daily classroom activities, mentor support staff, collaborate closely with families, and ensure high-quality care aligned with Head Start standards, helping set the foundation for a lifetime of learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging, age-appropriate curriculum that meets the developmental needs of each child.
- Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment.
- Conduct developmental screenings and ongoing child assessments to guide instruction and support.
- Build strong, respectful partnerships with families to promote each child’s growth and well-being.
- Mentor and supervise Teacher Assistants and other classroom staff, fostering teamwork and professional growth.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and licensing regulations.
- Actively participate in team meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
Required:
- Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, or in a related field with at least 15 credit hours in Early Childhood Education.
- Have or be willing to obtain an Infant/Toddler CDA in accordance with the Head Start Act and state licensing requirements.
- Experience working with children ages 0–3 in an early childhood classroom or care setting.
- Ability to meet all background checks, drug screening, and health requirements (including TB test and immunizations).
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Preferred:
- Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential.
- Previous experience in a Head Start/Early Head Start or similar early childhood education program.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or other languages) is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.53 - $24.00 per hour
