Lead Teacher

The Lead Teacher is responsible for providing direct support to the Director of the facility. They are responsible for efficient communication with staff and parents to promote and grow the school, providing each child with a nurturing environment and an excellent education. Responsible for regular daily administrative tasks, and able to step into the role of any position needed daily as needed.

The Lead Teacher should understand how an early education facility operates, have a general understanding of Michigan licensing requirements, and should strive to continually educate themselves on evolving laws and regulations set forward by the state to run compliant childcare and educational facility.

Job Qualifications:

• Have a love for children.
• Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Early childhood coursework, CDA, Associates or higher degree required.
• Director or Management experience preferred.
• Possess basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel.

Job Responsibilities:

• Willing to work between the hours of 6:00AM and 5:00PM, Monday through Friday – 12 months a year.
• Willing to open and close the facility two to three days per week.
• Accept responsibility for staff and students in attendance during the hours the Director is not on site.
• Ability to resolve occasional conflict and mediate between staff.
• Actively engage with children and parents.
• Communicate with parents regularly.
• Collaborate with other educators.
• Maintain compliance with all state and health regulations.
• Oversee and ensure lead teachers are implementing an age-appropriate curriculum.
