Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Lead Teacher to inspire and guide young learners in an engaging educational environment. Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating innovative teaching methods and learning technology to enhance student engagement.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement, behavior management strategies, and individualized support plans.
- Collaborate with speech therapists, behavioral health specialists, and other professionals to support children’s communication, social-emotional development, and learning goals.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing and progress monitoring tools to evaluate student development and inform instruction.
- Adapt teaching strategies for children with autism, hearing impairments such as deaf education needs, or other disabilities, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity.
- Facilitate early intervention programs that promote childhood development, literacy education, math skills, physical education, and overall child welfare.
- Prepare and maintain Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students requiring personalized learning plans.
- Engage families through regular communication about their child's progress and collaborate on strategies to support learning at home.
- Lead classroom activities that foster social skills, emotional regulation, and physical development appropriate for preschool or toddler care settings.
- Ensure compliance with licensing requirements for daycare or private school environments while maintaining a safe and nurturing atmosphere.
- Supervise assistant teachers or classroom aides, providing mentorship and guidance to uphold high standards of teaching excellence.
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills combined with expertise in behavior management techniques to create a positive learning environment.
- Proficiency in speech therapy techniques and experience working with children who have speech or language delays.
- Knowledge of curriculum development across early childhood education, literacy education, math instruction, and Montessori methods is highly desirable.
- Experience working with children with autism or other developmental disabilities; familiarity with special education practices including IEP development.
- Ability to utilize learning technology effectively to enhance lesson delivery and student engagement.
- Demonstrated experience in early intervention programs focusing on childhood development milestones.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, colleagues, therapists, and community partners.
- Background in behavioral health or behavioral therapy approaches applicable within educational settings.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures for assessing student progress in preschool or daycare environments.
- Knowledge of child welfare policies and best practices for childcare safety and emotional support.
- Experience working in private schools or daycare centers; understanding of preschool experience requirements is advantageous.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies for children at various developmental stages including toddlers and preschoolers.
