Job Overview

Responsibilities
- Design and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with developmental milestones, curriculum standards, and individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that supports children with disabilities, autism, or behavioral health needs through effective behavior management and behavioral therapy techniques.
- Collaborate with specialists such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and behavioral health professionals to support children's holistic development.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor progress in literacy, math, and overall childhood development.
- Manage classroom activities to ensure safety, engagement, and positive behavior while maintaining effective classroom management strategies.
- Mentor and supervise assistant teachers and childcare staff to promote professional growth and maintain high standards of early childhood education.
- Maintain detailed documentation of each child's progress, including IEP updates, behavioral reports, and communication logs with families.
Skills
- Proven experience in classroom management within early childhood education or special education settings.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, literacy education, math instruction, and curriculum development.
- Expertise in working with children with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental delays, or behavioral health challenges.
- Skilled in implementing speech therapy techniques, behavioral therapy strategies, and behavior management plans.
- Familiarity with IEP processes, standardized testing procedures, tutoring methods, and lesson planning for diverse learners.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, multidisciplinary teams, and community resources such as library services or private schools.
