This is a teaching role, not a gig.

Responsibilities

  • Teach live, small-group online math classes (grades 5–9)
  • Deliver lessons with clarity, pacing, and strong engagement
  • Follow structured lesson plans and curriculum
  • Maintain high expectations for student participation and behavior
  • Track and support student progress
  • Communicate briefly and clearly with parents as needed
  • Take ownership of student outcomes and retention

Who This Is For

  • Experienced middle school or high school math teachers
  • Instructional coaches or educators with strong classroom leadership
  • Teachers who are near retirement, recently retired, or seeking stable side income

  • High School, College students or entry-level applicants
  • Applicants outside the United States
  • Tutors who prefer casual, unstructured sessions
  • Candidates who struggle with clear communication
  • Anyone unwilling to follow a structured lesson plan

Requirements

  • 5+ years of teaching experience (middle school or high school math preferred)
  • Strong classroom management skills, including in virtual settings
  • Clear, confident verbal communication
  • Comfortable using Zoom and basic online tools
  • Reliable internet and professional work environment
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Schedule and Pay

  • Part-time schedule
  • Must be available:
  • Weekdays: 3:15 PM – 7:15 PM Pacific Time
  • Saturdays: 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM Pacific Time
  • Hourly pay
  • Performance-based bonuses tied to student outcomes and retention
  • Opportunity for increased hours and leadership roles over time

  • A short teaching video (10 minutes or less) using Loom or similar
  • Teach a middle school math concept of your choice
  • Show how you explain, model, and engage students
