- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, speech therapy techniques, and behavioral health strategies.
- Create a supportive classroom environment that encourages positive behavior management and effective classroom management techniques.
- Conduct assessments of children’s developmental progress, including standardized testing and IEP (Individualized Education Program) planning, to tailor instruction to individual needs.
- Collaborate with families, therapists, and specialists to support children with disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or other developmental challenges through early intervention strategies.
- Lead mentoring sessions for assistant teachers or student teachers while fostering teamwork among staff members.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress, behavioral health notes, and educational documentation such as lesson plans and progress reports.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, special education practices, Montessori or preschool methodologies, and library services to enhance teaching effectiveness. Skills
- Proven experience in classroom management within early childhood education or special education settings.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, behavioral therapy techniques, and behavioral health strategies.
- Expertise in curriculum development across literacy education, math instruction, speech therapy integration, and behavioral management.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with children, families, therapists, and colleagues effectively.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods for students with disabilities or those requiring individualized support plans (IEPs).
- Proficiency in using standardized testing tools and tutoring strategies to assess and support student growth.
- Familiarity with private school environments, Montessori methods, preschool experience, or library services is advantageous.
