Lead Teacher at a new Early Learning Center

We are a new early learning center opening in the fall of 2024 in the Pewaukee, Wisconsin area. Joining us now means everyone will be “new” at the same time!

Who would make a great fit as a TEACHER?

Ideally, you enjoy the company of wide-open and innocent little minds that you can impact and fill with nurturing care and guidance while encouraging them to explore and discover. You will be accountable for providing age-appropriate education and play. This can be both empowering and overwhelming so we have plenty of templates, curriculum, supplies… and team members to help! As a lead teacher, you will have a classroom where you can bring your experience and expertise to create a welcome, safe environment for children to learn and grow. We believe in a flexible, structured day of activities always being led by the child.

Other responsibilities:

• Classroom organization to allow for children to move around easily and locate (and put away) supplies
• Nurturing care and engaging with each child
• Actively communicate, collaborate, and interact with other team members
• Regular communication with parents regarding their child’s day and developmental progress
• Plan and implement lessons (structure with flexibility) based on themes and WI Early Learning Standards aligning to the developmental goals of individual children
• Varying activities: fine motor skills, art, music, math, science, etc. all developmentally-age appropriate
• Keeping safety at top-of-mind always and advocating for the physical and emotional safety of all
• Following sanitation procedures for surfaces including toys and supplies

If this sounds like a great fit for you but you don’t quite have all of the credentials needed (or you haven’t even started accruing them), reach out. We might be able to help!

We do our best to accommodate schedule preferences, however, it’s important to us that the teacher in each room remains consistent for the children.

Education: as required by the WI WI Department of Children and Families (DCF 251.03) (see our website for more information on education requirements)

Additional training is required and included in our extensive team member onboarding program. This includes but is not limited to: CPR, First Aid, AED operation, emergency procedures, preventing SIDS, Abusive Head Trauma, child management techniques, and more.

Next Steps

Career pathing to a teacher position can go from a Meal Maker or Associate Teacher and progress from a Lead Teacher to a mentor, Director, or Administrator.
