Dancing Moose Montessori School offers programs for children aged 18 months through 2nd grade. Our dedicated team uses the Montessori Philosophy as the foundation for daily interactions, combining it with current researched best practices. Job Description:

We are currently seeking a passionate and energetic Lead Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be someone who values both Montessori principles and innovative teaching techniques to foster a positive, supportive learning environment.

Teacher Education Program:

At Dancing Moose, we are committed to the professional growth of our staff. We offer an opportunity to enroll in our Teacher Education Program, where teachers can receive a Montessori teaching credential for the 0-3 years, 3-6 years, or 6-9 years age groups.

Experience You Need to Succeed:

We are looking for individuals who are invested in promoting children’s social, emotional, and academic growth. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A high school diploma (a 2 or 4-year degree or Montessori training is preferred).
  • Creativity and collaboration skills to implement innovative curriculum ideas.
  • Effective communication skills with children, parents, teachers, and administrators.
  • A desire for ongoing professional development through in-service training.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of Montessori philosophy.
  • Knowledge of Dancing Moose curriculum.
  • Ability to recognize and adapt to the individual needs of each child.
  • Effective communication skills with parents and staff.
  • Strong, collaborative support for colleagues
  • Excellent classroom management skills
  • Accurate record keeping of the progress of each child
  • Ability to prepare quarterly reports to communicate with parents
  • Excellent circle time planning skills
  • Outstanding curriculum research/development skills
  • Expert in using Google Suite including Google Sheets
  • Ability to lead a teaching team to successfully support student progress.

Physical Requirements:

In accordance with Child Care Licensing requirements, candidates must be able to meet the physical demands of an early childhood education setting, including:

  • Ability to lift, carry, and support children and materials weighing up to 30 pounds

  • Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods of time

  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and sit on the floor, and to get up and down frequently throughout the day

  • Ability to actively supervise children in classroom and outdoor environments

  • Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of children
