Lead Toddler Teacher

Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Lead Toddler Teacher to inspire and nurture our youngest learners during their critical early childhood years. In this vital role, you will lead a dynamic classroom environment dedicated to fostering growth, curiosity, and independence among toddlers. Your enthusiasm and expertise will create a warm, engaging space where children feel safe to explore and develop essential skills. As a leader in early childhood education, you will collaborate with families and team members to deliver high-quality care that promotes holistic development.

Duties

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that stimulate cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth for toddlers
  • Lead daily classroom routines including circle time, play-based learning, meal times, and nap schedules with enthusiasm and structure
  • Manage classroom behavior through positive guidance strategies, promoting respectful interactions and self-regulation
  • Ensure safety by maintaining a clean, organized environment and adhering to all health and safety regulations, including first aid protocols
  • Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns in a transparent and supportive manner
  • Supervise and mentor assistant teachers or caregivers to foster teamwork and professional growth
  • Incorporate special education strategies when working with children with disabilities or additional needs to ensure inclusive learning experiences

Experience

  • Prior experience working with preschool-aged children in daycare or classroom settings is essential
  • Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
  • Experience managing a toddler classroom with effective classroom management techniques
  • Familiarity with behavior management strategies suitable for young children
  • Certification in first aid and CPR required; additional certifications in special education or working with children with disabilities are highly valued
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with families, staff, and community partners to support child development
  • DCF Childcare 45 hours training
  • Background screening completed
  • CPR/ First aid
