OCC Early Learning Center is a faith-based early childhood program dedicated to creating a loving, engaging, and Christ-centered environment where children can learn and grow. We are seeking a warm, dependable, and enthusiastic Lead Toddler Teacher to join our team immediately.

Position Summary

Lead Teachers play a vital role in creating a safe, joyful, and engaging classroom environment where children feel known, valued, and loved. Teachers are responsible for actively supervising children, implementing emergent curriculum, conducting assessments, and partnering with families to support each child’s growth and development.

Responsibilities

· Create and maintain a positive, Christ-centered classroom environment

· Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans based on children’s interests and developmental needs

· Guide children through play-based learning and intentional instruction

· Conduct developmental observations and assessments

· Maintain portfolios and documentation for each child

· Build strong partnerships and communication with families

· Promote positive behavior through loving guidance and redirection

· Supervise children during all classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and transitions

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment

· Collaborate with coworkers and participate in trainings and staff meetings

Qualifications

· Must be 18 years or older

· High school diploma or equivalent required

· Experience in a licensed childcare or toddler setting preferred

· ECE Initial Certificate (or ability to obtain per Washington State requirements)

· Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

· Current Food Handler’s Permit

· MERIT background clearance required prior to employment

· Strong communication and organizational skills

· Positive, dependable, patient, and team-oriented attitude

Additional Requirements

· Maintain required DCYF trainings and annual STARS hours

· Maintain active MERIT account

· Ability to lift up to 45 pounds

· Ability to bend, sit, stand, and actively engage with children throughout the day

· Reliable attendance is essential to maintain required staff-to-child ratios

We are currently seeking a dependable, flexible, and caring Support Teacher to join our team immediately.

Position Summary

Support Teachers play an essential role in helping our center run smoothly each day. This position provides support across classrooms by covering teacher breaks, assisting with supervision, preparing and serving snacks, helping maintain classroom organization and cleanliness, and stepping in wherever needed to support children and staff.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, teamwork, and building positive relationships with children of different ages in a warm and faith-filled environment.

Responsibilities

· Provide classroom break coverage while maintaining safe supervision ratios

· Step into classrooms as needed to support teachers and children throughout the day

· Engage positively with children during play, learning activities, meals, and transitions

· Prepare and serve snacks while following food safety and allergy guidelines

· Assist with classroom cleaning, sanitizing, laundry, and organization

· Support daily routines including toileting, handwashing, and transitions

· Help maintain a safe, peaceful, and Christ-centered classroom environment

· Assist with school events, classroom materials, and general center support

· Communicate effectively with teachers and leadership to ensure smooth daily operations

Qualifications

· Must be 18 years or older

· High school diploma or equivalent required

· Experience working or volunteering with young children preferred

· Ability to work cooperatively with multiple classrooms and age groups

· Dependable, flexible, organized, and team-oriented

· Positive, patient, and nurturing attitude

· Current Food Handler’s Permit required

· CPR, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens certifications required (or willingness to obtain)

· Must pass DCYF Portable Background Check through MERIT prior to employment

Additional Requirements

· Reliable attendance is essential due to required staff-to-child ratios

· Ability to lift up to 45 pounds

· Ability to bend, squat, sit, stand, and actively engage with children throughout the day

· Willingness to assist with cleaning and sanitizing tasks as needed
