Lead Toddler Teacher (CDA Required)

Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Lead Toddler Teacher with a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential to join our dynamic early childhood education team. In this vital role, you will lead classroom activities, assist with assessments, potty-training and practical life skills, foster a nurturing environment, and support the developmental growth of toddlers. Your expertise will help lay a strong foundation for young learners through engaging lesson plans, effective behavior management, and personalized care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence early childhood development while working in a vibrant, supportive setting dedicated to excellence in education and child welfare.

Shift: 8:15am to 5:15pm, Monday through Friday

Responsibilities

  • Follow our age-appropriate curriculum tailored to toddler developmental stages, incorporating literacy education, physical activities, and social-emotional learning.
  • Maintain a safe and prepared classroom environment. Sanitizing, disinfecting all surfaces, vacuuming classroom at the end of your shift, tidying up bookshelves and play areas while eliminating broken or missing equipment. Taking inventory once a month of all materials to ensure pieces are there.
  • Lead daily classroom activities, including storytime, circletime, and exploration while ensuring a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for all children.
  • Manage classroom routines and behavior using positive reinforcement strategies aligned with best practices in behavior management and childhood development.
  • Charting daily events and milestones in Brightwheel and providing in-person updates to both parents, teammates and supervisors.
  • Collaborate with families to communicate progress, address concerns, and support each child's individual needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
  • Maintain compliance with licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and childcare policies to promote child welfare at all times.

Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of early childhood education principles, including curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management.
  • Proven experience working with children in toddler care settings or preschool environments.
  • Strong understanding of special education needs, early intervention strategies, and behavior management techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, families, staff, and community partners effectively.
  • Excellent command of English and technology.
  • Ability to design engaging activities that promote literacy education, math skills, physical education, and Montessori-inspired learning approaches.
  • Competence in managing classroom routines efficiently while fostering a nurturing environment that supports childhood development.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50 per hour
