Lead Trainer, Oral Bible Translation Department

Faith Comes By Hearing (FCBH) is a global ministry dedicated to providing God's Word in every language. With Scripture recordings in thousands of languages, we partner with Bible translation teams around the world to reach oral learners with the Gospel through audio and video content.

The OBT Lead Trainer supports the ministry of Faith Comes By Hearing by assisting the OBT Department to implement the use of an oral Bible translation software called Render though training. The person in this position will assist the Global Training Coordinator in starting training programs for new projects, training new trainers on the online platforms. The person in this position will contribute to the overall training strategy on both OBT projects and the Render software and train others around the world to help launch OBT projects.

Responsibilities include:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with Global Training Coordinator to get trained and certified as Lead OBT Trainer.
• Be available to travel internationally for launching a minimum of 3 projects in a calendar year plus attend other meetings/conferences as needed.,.
• Train OBT Trainers in workshop settings (when approved).
• Participate in and lead training sessions at the organizational and individual level.
• Provide timely reports to the Trainer Coordinator and others after leading an OBT workshop.
• Grade homework and other assignments of trainees.
• Help maintain various OBT databases for ministry use in cooperation with other members of the OBT department and assist in organizing a file management system for the OBT Training work.
• Assist in making continuous improvement to the training program, materials, and strategic decisions in trainer development, globally.
• Participate in the development and maintenance of online training platform to make it an optimal resource for training OBT trainers and others.
• Provide administrative support and participate in updates to platforms used in further training, such as the Virtual Training Orientation on iSpring.
• Participate with team members of the OBT department in project discussions, render testing, AI initiatives etc.
• Ensure all training resources, materials and processes are highly organized, documented, and available to FCBH trainers and partner organizations for ease of use.

• Provide OBT project coordinators, Render specialists, consultants etc. with updated training data to make improvement to render software and project management as necessary.
• Assist in communicating with Trainers, Project Coordinators once trainers are assigned to a project launch workshop.
• Conduct Render software demos as needed for ministry and partners.
• Additional duties maybe assigned as required by the supervisor/ OBT Director.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Attend meetings with visiting partners when required.
• Participate in relevant ongoing professional development meetings, workshops etc.
• Provide hospitality to OBT department guests according to the standards established by FCBH.

Required:

• Missions-minded with a heart for reaching all people with the Word of God.
• A minimum qualification of Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
• Ability to learn in cross-cultural contexts.

§ PC proficiency in all MS Office applications; Excel advanced proficiency level.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel internationally 3 to 4 times a year and domestically as required

Preferred:

• An understanding or experience in cross-cultural work.

• Fluency in another language.

• Background in Teaching, Linguistics, Orality, or Theology/Ministry.
