Lead Waxer/ Team Lead

Full Time Lead Cerologist

SUMMARY

The Lead Cerologist is responsible for supporting daily studio operations, team performance, and client experience while modeling Waxing the City service standards in their own work with clients. Support operations as the on‑site leadership presence.

. The ideal candidate excels at coaching and motivating teams, maintaining a clean and professional environment, driving sales performance, and ensuring compliance with all protocols.

ROLE SCOPE & ACCOUNTABILITY

This position reports directly to the Area Manager and collaborates closely with management, ownership, and the Cerologist team. The Lead Cerologist is accountable for supporting service excellence, team development, and operational execution while protecting and reinforcing Waxing the City culture.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

TEAM DEVELOPMENT

  • Conduct daily huddles to highlight goals, wins & recognition, and opportunities for growth
  • Ensure completion and submission of daily “Plan Your Day” guides for all Cerologists
  • Foster a positive, results-driven team culture; actively serve as a team cheerleader
  • Lead by example through professionalism, teamwork, accountability, and service excellence
  • Execute a Core Development Plan, including a 6-week follow-through for key services
  • Conduct 6-month service checks for each Cerologist
  • Lead continued education initiatives for services & retail products
  • Communicate and monitor progress on studio and corporate contests & competitions
  • Support hiring efforts, including technical interviews and onboarding support and training including sourcing models

OPERATIONS

  • Maintain accurate inventory levels for supplies & products including promotions & events
  • Manage time clock errors and facilitate staff coverage and rescheduling for absences
  • Ensure all calls, texts, and voicemails are handled promptly & resolved
  • Drive studio and team social posting, and ensure required client messaging
  • Perform weekly room checks to ensure compliance with regulations and WTC standards
  • Manage end-of-day administrative responsibilities
  • Support special projects, events, and business initiatives as needed

CLIENT EXPERIENCE & SERVICE STANDARDS

  • Support the implementation and execution of Waxing the City customer service standards
  • Ensure an audit-ready, clean, safe, and professional studio environment at all times
  • Demonstrate consistent adherence to all waxing and service processes and procedures
  • Address client concerns professionally and escalate as needed to management
  • Reinforce a culture exceeding client expectations from first impression through long-term relationship

LEADERSHIP

  • Collaborate closely with management on studio operations and staff performance & development
  • Maintain “gold numbers” in sales and performance to effectively set standards for the team
  • Act as Manager on Duty as scheduled or required. Attend quarterly management meetings
  • Participate in weekly touch-base meetings with Area Manager
  • Attend monthly team meetings and assist in planning as needed
  • Uphold all company policies, procedures, safety standards, and service protocols

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A passion for waxing and the beauty industry
  • Previous leadership experience in a service-based, retail, or hospitality environment
  • Strong communication, coaching, and time-management skills
  • Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and lead with confidence and independence
  • Flexible, adaptable, and team-oriented mindset
  • Commitment to exceptional customer service, professionalism, and accountability
  • Required: Current State Licensure (Esthetician, Cosmetologist)

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
