ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leads the design, deployment, and continuous improvement of the AIT Program to align with state licensure requirements, organizational needs, and leadership competencies.

Identifies, screens, selects, and supports AIT candidates in collaboration with HR, skilled nursing leadership, and educational partners.

Coordinates rotations, placement assignments, preceptor relationships, and leadership exposure opportunities across skilled nursing center locations.

Monitors AIT progress, competency achievement, and readiness milestones; escalates support needs or performance gaps as required.

Prepares AIT participants for board/licensure examination by integrating study support, coaching, and feedback cycles.

Develops and maintains a multi-year leadership pipeline strategy for Skilled Nursing Services Administrators across the System.

Designs competency models, development pathways, and succession frameworks supporting operational leadership roles.

Facilitates leadership assessments, cohort learning, coaching, mentoring, and development programming.

Supports onboarding and ongoing development for new Administrators

Partners with Healthcare Operations, HR, and Learning & Development to ensure alignment of leader expectations, curriculum, and readiness criteria.

Provides coaching and support to AIT preceptors, and field leaders to ensure effective leadership development practices.

Tracks AIT participant records, hours, performance evaluations, and regulatory documentation to ensure compliance with state requirements.

Maintains policies, procedures, and Administrator-in-Training Program structure to meet accreditation, regulatory, and operational expectations.

Prepares reporting for senior leadership on workforce readiness, pipeline health, success rates, and placement outcomes.

Manages ongoing program evaluation and improvements based on feedback, industry trends, and organizational priorities.

Models leadership values aligned with servant leadership, service, accountability, continuous improvement, and mission-centered care.

Designs and supports leadership learning experiences that reinforce organizational culture and operational excellence.

Serves as a visible leadership development resource to new and emerging leaders.

Promotes the image and reputation of the System by exhibiting servant leadership and providing direct and open lines of communication

Contributes to the work of committees, workgroups, project management and other collaborative efforts of the System.

Performs other executive duties as necessary to ensure the success of the System.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Strong knowledge of skilled nursing healthcare operations

Skills in leadership development, succession planning, and cohort learning design

Excellent relationship-building, coaching, mentoring, and facilitation abilities

Demonstrated ability to develop leaders through influence and structured development pathways

Strong program administration, planning, communication, and presentation skills

Knowledge of licensure requirements for nursing home administrators

Ability to collaborate with field leaders, academic partners, regulatory entities, and talent functions

High emotional intelligence and organizational awareness
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
-
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, education, human resources, organizational development, or related field
-
Three (3) years of experience in leadership development, talent management, healthcare operations, or related leadership capacity

Ability to travel to skilled nursing center locations as required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
-
Master’s degree in healthcare administration, organizational leadership, business, or related discipline
-
Previous experience as an Administrator, AIT Program Leader, Director of Learning & Development, or operational HR leader
-
Experience with licensed administrator preparation programs or state exam processes
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No direct reports but provides oversight to Administrator-in-Training Associates.
