What You'll Do

The Leadership Training Manager will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive leadership development programs aligned with organizational goals and strategic objectives. This role requires a strong understanding of organizational development principles, adult learning theories, and effective leadership practices. The Manager will collaborate with various departments to identify leadership training needs and ensure the continuous growth and effectiveness of leaders at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership Development Program Design & Management:
    • Design, develop, and implement a holistic leadership development curriculum, including workshops, seminars, coaching, mentoring programs, and micro learning modules.
    • Conduct needs assessments to identify current and future leadership development requirements across the organization.
    • Research and incorporate best practices, innovative approaches, and emerging trends in leadership development and organizational effectiveness.
    • Manage the full lifecycle of leadership programs, from conceptualization and design to execution and post-program evaluation.
  • Organizational Development Integration:
    • Collaborate with Human Resource (HR) and senior leadership across organizations to integrate leadership development initiatives with broader organizational development strategies, including talent management, succession planning, and change management.
    • Champion a culture of continuous learning and leadership excellence throughout the organization.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of organizational competencies and leadership models.
  • Facilitation and Delivery:
    • Facilitate engaging and impactful leadership training sessions for diverse audiences, from emerging leaders to senior executives.
    • Select, onboard, and manage external training vendors and consultants as needed.
    • Develop and maintain a robust network of internal subject matter experts to contribute to leadership development initiatives.
  • Evaluation and Impact Measurement:
    • Develop and implement metrics to measure the effectiveness and return on investment (ROI) of leadership development programs.
    • Analyze program data and feedback to identify areas for improvement and ensure programs meet desired outcomes.
    • Prepare and present reports on leadership development initiatives and their impact to key stakeholders.
  • Coaching and Mentoring:
    • Provide individual and group coaching to leaders to enhance their skills and address specific development needs.
    • Support the development of internal mentoring programs and resources.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Build strong relationships with senior leadership, department heads, and HR business partners to ensure alignment and support for leadership development initiatives.
    • Communicate effectively regarding program updates, successes, and challenges.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 12 years of relevant experience
  • OR Applicants without a bachelor's degree may be considered based on a combination of at least 20 years of completed education and/or relevant experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory/management experience.

Preferred Job Requirements

Five years of supervisory/management experience. Candidates with less years of supervisory/management experience will be required to complete a developmental plan approved by the Division Director or their delegate.

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Master's degree preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in leadership development, organizational development, adult learning, or a related HR field.
  • Proven expertise in designing, developing, and delivering impactful leadership training programs.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and learning technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting needs assessments and evaluating program effectiveness.
  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in project management and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience with various assessment tools (e.g., 360-degree feedback, personality assessments) is highly desirable.
  • Certifications in coaching, organizational development, or specific leadership development programs are a plus.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
