As part of the Academic Success Center’s commitment to high-impact, peer-supported learning, the Learning Innovation Coordinator advances the quality, consistency, and innovation of Supplemental Instruction (SI) programming within the Academic Success Center’s Vol Study Center, including strategic support for courses within the Haslam College of Business. This role strengthens the instructional foundation of SI by developing aligned academic support materials, enhancing hybrid and online learning strategies, and supporting SI Leaders in delivering high-quality, student-centered learning experiences across disciplines.
Working closely with the Assistant Director of Supplemental Instruction and SI leadership staff, the Learning Innovation Coordinator integrates instructional design principles and academic technologies into SI practice to ensure cohesion across in-person and virtual formats. While supporting Supplemental Instruction initiatives serving the Haslam College of Business, this position also contributes to broader SI program development and scalability across the Academic Success Center.
Instructional Content Development & Innovation
The Learning Innovation Coordinator is responsible for advancing the quality, consistency, and innovation of Supplemental Instruction (SI) programming. They will lead the creation and development of student-centered, instructionally aligned academic support materials for use across peer-led and academic programs (e.g., SI, online workshops, academic modules), including support for courses within the Haslam College of Business.
Apply instructional design principles to ensure engaging, consistent, and accessible content across delivery modes, leveraging the university’s learning management system (LMS) to support online and asynchronous academic support.
Collaborate with SI leaders, faculty, and Academic Success Center staff, including partners within the Haslam College of Business, to develop innovative learning experiences that reinforce key course concepts and promote academic success.
Support the ongoing refinement and scaling of asynchronous learning initiatives and embedded academic support models across disciplines.

Required Qualifications
Education:
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree with one year of relevant experience such as instructional design, program coordination, or content development using learning technologies.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Knowledge of student-centered learning practices.
Skill in developing accessible digital academic content.
Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without need now or in the future for sponsorship for employment-based visa status.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
Experience:
Master’s degree in instructional design, education, educational technology, curriculum and instruction, learning sciences, or a related field.
Experience developing academic support materials for online, hybrid, or peer-led learning environments.
Experience supervising student employees or peer educators in an academic support setting.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Knowledge of instructional design principles and their application in hybrid or asynchronous academic support environments.
Skill in supervising, mentoring, or training peer educators or student staff.
Ability to evaluate and integrate academic technologies that enhance learning beyond traditional sessions.
Knowledge of Supplemental Instruction (SI) or similar peer-led instructional strategies.
Skill in designing and maintaining learning modules within Canvas or similar LMS environments.
